Vision Trip
We had the opportunity to travel to Quito briefly in February for a vision trip - preparing for and envisioning what life will be like once we are living and working there.
Don’t worry - we had our brains tickled through multiple covid tests before and after our travel according to each country’s guidelines. We are grateful for continued good health, and took precautions very seriously.
We packed a lot of activities into a few short days:
Interviewed and met with the team of directors for our organization
Learned more about our roles and job descriptions
Visited one of our partner churches, Cristo Liberador
Looked at purchasing a car from one of our friends - that sure made this feel real!
Caught up with a dear friend, Brenda, over coffee
Asked lots of practical questions about moving internationally
The better part of our visit was spent at El Refugio, Youth World’s retreat center, with the people we will work with most closely. If you know some spanish, you know that its name translates to “The Refuge.” It certainly lives up to its name. If you know me, you know I love a good team bonding weekend!
